Property Highlights

Spacious, beautifully maintained Craftsman home.

The Wheeler Lodge is a 4,031-square-foot Arts and Crafts bungalow built in 1900, set on a quiet, tree-lined block in the Edgewood section of Cranston and ideal for families and groups. The home offers four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and two dedicated home offices across three floors — with original woodwork, stained glass, and built-ins preserved throughout and a thoughtful program of recent renovations completed in 2025.

Inside, the home is tastefully furnished — vintage rugs over original hardwood, warmer wall color in a few of the rooms, and a comfortable mix of modern and older pieces. Stylish but understated.

The grounds reflect years of careful planting under a mature oak canopy — fruit trees throughout (cherry, sour cherry, apple, peach, dwarf Asian pear, and elderberry), concord grape vines, dogwood, a native-grass front meadow, bamboo, rosehip, and raised vegetable beds. Large, peaceful, and plant-filled across the whole lot. Rooftop solar offsets a portion of the home's electric usage.

Offered furnished for the academic year (September through June), with short-term stays available during open weeks the rest of the year. Pets considered on approval.

A dedicated minisplit keeps the suite at temperature year-round.

Location

Edgewood — between Roger Williams Park and Pawtuxet Village.

Edgewood is one of Cranston's most walkable neighborhoods — tree-lined streets of large early-twentieth-century homes anchored on one end by Roger Williams Park (435 acres, with a zoo, a Museum of Natural History and planetarium, a Japanese garden, paddleboats, and a carousel) and on the other by the salt marshes of Stillhouse Cove and the cafés, restaurants, and marinas of historic Pawtuxet Village.

Walking distance to Seven Stars Bakery, All Favorites, Ming's, Bagel Express, Beans and Buns, Edgewood Cheese Shop, Lily's Soups and Scoops, the Pawtuxet Village Market, and a row of village restaurants including Basta, Rim Nahm, Vatsana, Fellini's, Revolution American Bistro, and O'Rourke's. The Pawtuxet Village Farmers' Market runs Saturday mornings May through October.

The R-Line runs straight up Broad Street to Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence and continues on to Pawtucket. MBTA Commuter Rail to Boston runs from Providence Station (10 minutes north by car) and T.F. Green Station (10 minutes south).
